Good
evening Maritime Community:
The wind is forecasted to be at or near the 35kts threshold in the AOR, starting mid-morning tomorrow(9 Dec) and into early Friday morning (10 Dec).
Attached please find the MSIB regarding Heavy Weather Advisory Winter Weather Update and all addressees with vessels are requested to have their vessels prepare and comply.
VTS LA/LB will start our heavy weather broadcast at 0100 Thursday morning and will send it hourly until the wind subsides. We will also call each vessel that remains at anchor
to ensure they have their engine in immediate standby and a second anchor (if equipped) ready to let go. Loitering vessels will be reminded to also have their engines in immediate standby, as per attached MSIB.
Yours in preparedness and readiness so we maintain a safe, secure, efficient, reliable, and environmentally sound marine transportation system, fair
weather or foul!
Be safe, healthy, and well,
Kip
